Sweet & Mildly Spicy Nuts and Grains Snack – So Good!

Looking for an easy, delicious and healthy snack for game day? Here it is! So quick and easy, made in under 20 minutes, you’ll be surprised how good this tastes! To make this for your vegan friends, substitute 3 tablespoons water and 1 tablespoon of ground chia seed (mixed and allowed to sit for 10 minutes to thicken) for the egg white.

Serves:: 3½ cups
  • 2 T Honey
  • 1 Egg white
  • ⅛ t Cayenne pepper (more if you like it spicier)
  • ⅛ t Ground ginger
  • ¼ t Kosher salt
  • ¼ t Lawry’s Seasoned salt
  • 3 C Raw almonds, walnuts, and pecans mixture
  • ⅓ C Uncooked tri-colored Quinoa (sometimes called rainbow quinoa)
  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together honey, egg white, cayenne, Seasoning salt, salt and ginger.
  3. Mix well, add nuts and quinoa, and mix again.
  4. Pour mixture into prepared baking sheet and bake until toasted, about 15 minutes, turning halfway.
  5. Remove from oven.
  6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour into a bowl and serve warm.
