How to make an ordinary picnic in the Sonoma County wine
country special? Serve it with snacks from the Sonoma Cheese Factory Store and
Champagne! Or, as we call it in California, sparkling wine. Enjoying a wonderful
glass from Mumm Napa, as a winery stop along the Silverado Trail, will be just
what you need! I must warn you, the comfortable winery location with lovely
vineyard views may lull you into complete sparkling wine nirvana. If you decide
to forget about the picnic, be sure to at least enjoy a tasting. I suggest the
Brut Prestige, Extended Tirage. So delicious!

 

By the way, if you do make it to
Sonoma, they sell Harvarti cheese, sliced mild salami, grapes, and toasted
bread slices in a convenient refrigerated package at the Factory Store right
off the main park plaza in downtown Sonoma. Park anywhere along the park, if
you can find a space, and you’ll be within walking distance of several wineries
and charming stores that invite you to taste wine and browse at your leisure. Also,
be sure to get a taste (or three) of Gelato while you’re tasting cheeses at the
Sonoma Cheese Factory Store. It’s delicious, too!
