3 “Healthy” Teas to Try – Reviews and Health Benefits!

I found a good one! With the interest in teas and detox drinks, I thought I would see what all the fuss is about. I used a teaspoon of agave nectar in each of them, no milk, and this is what I prefer. Here’s a description of some of the best teas and the benefits you might gain from drinking them. I tried 3 different teas from the grocery store and this is what I discovered:

Twinings Green Tea Jasmine – Green tea is the world’s most consumed tea!

Much research suggests drinking tea—particularly green tea—can fight diseases and even lengthen life. This is due to tea’s high concentration of antioxidants called polyphenols, which may contribute to the prevention of cancer, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular diseases. Secondly, tea has less caffeine. It’s pretty well established that the compounds in tea – their flavonoids – are also good for the heart and may reduce cancer.

This particular tea requires only 2 minutes to steep, which is a big time saver. I found the addition of jasmine flowers to make a significant difference and improvement with a delicate floral aroma and taste that makes drinking green tea much more pleasant for my tastes. I found this tea is more neutral and likely to complement other foods. Delicious! I could see drinking this everyday!

EveryDay Detox Herbal Tea – Designed to promote healthy liver function with your body’s natural detoxification process.

Herbal tea is really just an infusion of leaves, seeds, roots or bark, extracted in hot water. In drinking a well-steeped herbal tea, we get all the plant’s benefits in an easily digestible form. Some say, If you drink tea every day, it can make all sorts of significant changes to your mood, your skin, your sense of well-being and energy.

I was surprised how much I loved this tea! Like it says on the box, it’s a combination of five tastes; sweet, sour, bitter, pungent and salty. The complexity was fantastic and well balanced. It happens to be based on the ancient elements and fundamentals of Chinese medicine. But since it needs to steep for 10-15 minutes, it was lukewarm when I drank it. This however would make an excellent ice tea. The fact that it’s good for your health is a wonderful bonus! I liked this one the best! The flavor was really good!

Stash Caffeine Free Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea – A classic detox tea

A great digestive aid, ginger can be used to curb nausea, vomiting or upset stomach due to motion sickness. And, lemon balm herbal tea is helpful for lifting the spirits. It’s good for the winter blahs and it can help improve concentration. There are many detox drinks based on this formula of lemon and ginger. However, dentists warn about the effects of acidic drinks that can damage the enamel on your teeth. You can bypass that concern by drinking it with a straw! I liked this tea the least, but, for a potentially pungent combination, this herbal tea was subtle and somewhat enjoyable!
