Easy White Garlic Pizza Sauce

So delicious! Here’s a flavorful summertime pizza sauce to add to pizza dough made from scratch or pre-purchased. It’s wonderful with garlic, cooked chicken, vegetables and fresh herbs! As a bonus, this can be used for pasta, to top garlic bread, also! It’s a very versatile sauce.

Make this simple white sauce to top homemade pizza, garlic bread, or pasta!

Serves:: 1 cup
  • 2 T Unsalted butter
  • 1 T Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 T All-purpose flour
  • ½ C Half and half
  • ¼ C Milk, or more as needed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground white pepper
  1. Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees F., If making pizza.
  2. For sauce; Over low heat, melt butter and heat olive oil in a small saucepan.
  3. Add garlic and cook until tender and fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add flour and whisk until flour is lightly browned and free of lumps, 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add half and half and milk and whisk, cooking until desired thickness, about 3 minutes.
  6. Add additional milk, if too thick.
  7. For pizza; Place directly onto raw pizza dough on a greased pizza pan spread with cornmeal.
  8. Spread sauce to within 1” of edges.
  9. Add vegetables, cheeses and meats as desired.
  10. Place in oven for about 15 minutes or until nicely browned.
